Rule #1: The mark must never be used to imply "better environmental performance," only "better data credibility."
What the EPD+ Mark Means
A clear signal for procurement and investors.
Verified Assurance
The EPD+ mark confirms that selected primary data used in the EPD has been verified directly (often on-site) by a qualified third party.
Defined Scope
The mark always refers to a clearly defined verification scope and level (e.g. CPR 3+ Ready), published in the Registry.
Programme-Based
EPD+ is not a self-declared claim. It is issued, numbered, and governed by the Programme Operator of the EPD Poland Programme.
Permitted Uses
Where and how you can display the mark.
On EPD Documents
- On the EPD cover page (top right/left).
- Next to the programme logo.
- Must reference the applicable EPD+ level.
Technical Comms
- Product datasheets (TDS).
- Procurement documentation packets.
- Tender submissions (as proof of quality).
Digital Channels
- Manufacturer website (product pages).
- Digital Product Passports (DPP).
- ESG Reports (referencing data quality).
Mandatory Conditions for Use
The EPD+ mark is a licensed trademark. It may only be used if:
- The product is validly listed in the public EPD+ Registry.
- The underlying EPD remains valid (not expired or suspended).
- The declared verification level matches the registry entry exactly.
- No claims exceed the verified scope (e.g., claiming CPR 3+ Verified when holding only Ready).
Prohibited Uses
Strict rules to prevent greenwashing.
No Substitution
The EPD+ mark must not be used as a replacement for a full EPD document or as a standalone environmental claim without context.
No Performance Ranking
The mark indicates data credibility, not environmental superiority. It does not mean "this product is greener than others."
No Misleading Context
The mark must not be used outside the verified product scope (e.g. on products not covered by the verification) or for unverified sites.
Transparency protects value
Clear rules on mark usage ensure that EPD+ remains a trusted signal for buyers and auditors.
